Platform Engineer

Charles Simon Associates are working with a well known National business who are looking for a Platform Engineer on an initial 6 month contract based out of Watford with some hybrid working.

 

This role is inside IR35 and will be onsite 2 days per week, home based the rest.

 

All candidates must have had previous experience of database migrations in the cloud to be considered for this role.

 

Location: Watford/Home Based

Rate: Up to £650 per day D.O.E

Length: 6 months initial, possible extension

 

Skills/Requirements for the Platform Engineer:

• Previous experience working within similar roles
• Strong Terraform experience
• Familiarity with CICD practices
• Extensive AWS experience
• Previous database migration experience
• Infrastructure As Code (IaC)
• Jenkins or GitLab experience
• MYSQL and/or PostgreSQL experience
• AWS Aurora experience
• Amazon RDS experience

 

Start date is ASAP for the Platform Engineer

 

The Platform Engineer will be responsible for:

• Running multiple migration projects within the business’s different areas
• Maintaining and improving the existing secure developer platform
• Working with the product teams to help delivery automation, tooling and cloud infrastructure
• Contributing to the Cloud team standards, identifying and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and standards
• Creating and testing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform
• Communicating with various stakeholders within the business, to confirm deadlines are being met
